Individually hand made by artisans in Colima, these little vessels are very versatile. The technique is called "Barro bruñido," a pre-Hispanic pottery tradition that involves adding mineral slips to obtain rich colors. Instead of glazing, the clay’s surface is rubbed with a river or quartz stone to seal in the pigment before firing.
